Floating Home v. Snow

Published by at 11:02 pm under Floating Homes

Remember a little while back when I was whinging about the atypical weather in Portland and the minor fact that my house had no roof on it at the time?

Well, I just stumbled across a video of my nearby neighbor, Scott Niesen, who writes the Floating Home FAQ, shoveling snow off his deck so his house didn’t sink.

I swear you just can’t make stuff this good up.

My Dad e-mailed a link to your blog. I love what I see here and will be a happier follower of your adventure with Rumi the cat. As a kid I always dreamed of living on a houseboat. And as an adult, I’ve dreamed of living in a Hobbit Hole (just like an earth ship!). These are wonderful alternatives to the modern sub-division (YUK!)

    Happy Blogging!

Hi, Kim! Thanks for the note. Of course, you realize you’re just encouraging me to post more cat anecdotes. :) If I can ever help you with info on houseboats/floating homes, let me know.

Wow. I’m an internet tv star. Thanks for posting my silly video. The result of cabin fever no doubt.

Hi, Scott! Yes, you are. :) I can’t tell you how many times that video of yours has made me laugh. (This is exactly when my house was missing a roof. So, believe me, I needed the laugh.)

    Thanks for stopping by.
