MSNBC Story on the Small Home Movement

Published by at 9:17 am under Small Homes

dee msnbc MSNBC Story on the Small Home MovementI think many people have seen the Dee Williams YouTube video of her driving her tiny house on wheels around Olympia, Washington.

Or possibly you have read the Yes! Magazine interview with her in their winter issue.

I recently came across this news story featuring her on MSNBC.com. What I particularly like about this interview is that provides examples of what different people’s motivations were for downsizing and also some financial information.

Plus, I love the small Portland home that is included in the story.

Great find! I also love that house in Portland. The spiral staircase adds so much charm to the space.

My silence of late only indicates my BUSY, not a lack in the love department for these excellent posts.

I was so glad to see some more unique homes like the ones in this piece, and I thank you for that.

What makes me a bit batty is that none of the news organizations approach the less “folksy / cute” angle or “buzzword foreclosure” angle of … MAKING THIS LEGAL! Legalize our little bitty lifestyle, someone …en masse, not just liberated, afar and expensive pockets.

I imagine a flip-flop world where the evildoers and greedhogs who grind the planet and the people down have no lobbyists – and magically all the nice, loving and well-intentioned people have them instead.

Insomnia just isn’t cute, huh? But it’s a nice vision … Thanks for another great post, I am trying to get caught up in the next 24hrs- erm, split by a sleeping session one hopes!

Lynne, I hear you. I’m going to be working on a couple of posts this weekend on the issues of what’s currently legal and where we really need to get to.
