I know this was posted awhile ago, but I just had to mention this: the designer of this houseboat (albeit beautiful to look at) obviously does NOT cook - why, oh why, would he put the sink and cooktop & oven on opposite sides of the island?! Doesn't make any sense, unless that's intentional to make sure the owners maintain a slim figure to fit well in the design, lol.

I posted a piece about this on Buoyantlife.net as well. Here's my issue. If you just want to park and leave it I think it's a beautiful living space (if a little pricey for the amount of space) but he's marketing it as a houseboat, with motors for cruising. Yet there is no obvious steering, nor way to secure furnishings in rough waters, made more urgent by the lack of built in storage. I wrote him about that, and he said there are video cameras to show blind spots (presumably pointing towards the front as you steer from the rear) and a "folding flybridge", which can be taken down when not in use. I asked for photos showing how these work and more info but he responded with how stable it is and how much people like it. I suspect it makes more sense as floating condo than a houseboat. Anyway, I was looking for documentation about steering and storage when I ran across this site. Nicely done. Would like to exchange emails with you about our shared interests.

Anna, in the costs pdf, it describes the standard bedroom to include: Hinged Platform Bed for access to lower hull storage

The optional storage is: Pop-Up Wardrobe / Chest Of Drawers (out of floor) - $2,200
*Can be placed on left and/or right side

The kitchen cabinets are in that center island and there is a closet in the bathroom. Looks like opposite the sink, behind a statted door?

The pricing and options are here, a bit rich for my blood, but if I had that to spend on a home, this would be high up in the running, no thanks to Steph and her darn blog :-)

Yes, it is beautiful.

Living in Florida there's the issue of hurricanes, i.e. wind, lots of wind. How would a place like this stand up. Also how's the insulation, it is very hot here a lot of the time.

One more thing...I didn't see any storage space.

Beautiful houseboat! We have a few new ones on Lake Union in Seattle similar to that, but not nearly that extravagant. It really looks like a "home" on the inside.

OMG that is so nice! I bet I could even convince SWMBO to live on the water if we had that. I love that sink in the bathroom!

(That sound you hear is my mancard being stripped from my grasp by the authorities :-D )
